These are not all of my favorite movies. I did not include any musicals, or some of those would have been in this list. All of these movies have wonderful dancing, an intriguing plot and something special. I hope you enjoy.

1. The Turning Point (1977)Turning Point
This movie has wonderful dancing and was nominated for 11 Academy Awards. The plot of the story is realistic which isn’t always the case in dance movies.

2. White Nights (1985) White Nights
This movie brought together two of my favorite dancers (Gregory Hines and Mikhail Baryshnikov) and one of my favorite choreographers (Twyla Tharp) together in one movie. Need I say more?

3. Footloose (1984)
This movie is about fighting all odds to make dance possible. Isn’t that every dancers story? This is fun and Footloosemakes you want to get up and dance.

4. Black Swan (2010)
This movie has some beautiful dancing and has an interesting twist. I even think Anna Pavlova, the Dying Swan herself, would have been entertained.Black Swan

5. Billy Elliot (2000)
This wonderful story is about a young boy from a small town and his journey to becoming a dancer. This movie also ends with one of my favorite ballets. Watch it and see. Billy Elliot
