Elevate Your Career: Internship Opportunities

Students in the Department of Communication & Media are strongly encouraged to supplement traditional classroom learning with relevant, on-the-job training. We recommend the internship experience as a vital bridge between theory and practice, preparing you for success in multiplatform journalism, film and documentary production, advertising, organizational communication, and public relations.

Whether on-campus or off-campus, these opportunities allow you to sharpen your competencies, solve real-world problems, and build a professional identity and portfolio that stands out to employers.

Internships for College Credit

To ensure our students receive both professional experience and academic recognition, we offer a structured internship-for-credit program.

Program Requirements:

· Exclusivity: This program is available exclusively to Communication and Media majors and minors.

· Course Enrollment: To receive credit, students must be concurrently enrolled in either COMM 3361 or COMM 4361 (Internship).

· Tuition: Like any other academic course, an internship for credit involves enrolling in and paying for three credit hours of tuition and all associated fees.

Through this program, juniors and seniors gain invaluable experience in both paid and unpaid positions while satisfying their degree requirements.

Note: Before accepting a position intended for academic credit, please ensure you meet the major/minor requirements and are prepared to enroll in the corresponding COMM course.
