What if I don't have a portfolio and want to declare a major in the Department of Art and Design?

We encourage currently enrolled Lamar University students to take a foundations course in the Department of Art and Design, either ARTS1316 Drawing I or ARTS1311 Design I. These entry-level courses are required in all degree programs in the department.

In these courses, you will be able to explore your interests in art and design and develop portfolio works to submit while earning credit that counts towards any degree program in the department.
