University Accessibility Committee Meeting

  1. Introductions and welcome (Kyle)

 

  1. Exits, Entrances, furniture, and other policies related to COVID 19

 

  1. Virtual classroom and event accessibility recommendations

 

  1. Current accessibility issues on campus – Continue to discuss ongoing issues that deal with access for people with disabilities and work together as a committee to find a reasonable resolution

 

  1. Topics or ideas for 2020-2021 committee focus and work – the committee's overall goal for the 2020/2021academic year will be to enhance the committee's knowledge and understanding of accessibility, advocacy, and social justice of implementing accommodations and how they impact the university community.

 

So that everyone will be able to:

  • Advocate for co-workers, students, and faculty with disabilities
  • Expand knowledge of universal design and understanding of social placement of accommodations to make meaningful suggestions and recommendations to their respective departments, co-workers, faculty, and community members.
  • Experience and learn of best practice for providing access in higher education
