Attending:  Jacqueline Jensen and Jeremy Alm representing new Math courses, B. Garrick Harden, Theresa Hefner Babb, Boyd Lanier, Stefan Andrei, Melissa Riley (proxy), Mamta Singh, Michael Saar, Alberto Marquez, Larry Osborne, Debbie Troxclair, Kendrick Aung, Qin Qian, Qingjiang Yao, Paul Hemenway (proxy), John McCollough, Joe Nordgren (AVPAA) and Tammye Knowles, David Short.

Call to Order: 3:35 p.m.

Approval of Minutes: Garrick Harden made a motion to approve the minutes of the last meeting. Boyd Lanier seconded the motion, and it was passed.

Old Business:

Discussion of the B.S. in Chem. Engineering:

• There was no indication of change from the CE Department as this requirement was part of existing degree plans. The Council still felt inclusion of a Programming Pre-Req. on the face of the degree amounted to a hidden curriculum requirement.
• It was again returned to the department.

B.S. in Computer Game Development:

• Note #2 will need to drop languages after Fall 2018,
• Note #6 shows 6 hours of science rather than 8 req. in core for B.S., MATH 3370 req. MATH 2414.
• L. Osborne rec. approval with changes accepted by the department to replace 3370 with 2414, S. Andrei seconded and the motion passed.

New Business:

COMM 1311 Addition:

• Syllabus needed phone #, correct version of DRC statement, add emergency procedures.
• Motion to Approve With Changes was made by Q. Yao, seconded by B. Lanier and passed.

COMM 1370 Deletion:

• Replaced by COMM 1311.
• Motion to accept made by B. Lanier, seconded by S. Andrei and passed.

MATH 0132 Addition, MATH 0270 Addition, MATH 0370 Addition and MATH 1332 Change 

• Evaluated as a group as part of the MATH revamp of developmental courses.
• Changes recommended included modification of Learning Outcomes which are unique to each course when taught as a co-req. of a regular college-level course.
• Recommended Approval with Changes by B. Lanier, seconded by A. Marquez and passed.

ENGL 0301 Addition:

• Taken up with the promise of a fully signed off cover sheet from A&S and the Department of English.
• S. Andrei moved to adopt, B. Lanier seconded the motion passed contingent on completed cover sheet.

CPSC 4380 and CPSC 4381 Additions:

• Contained only minor omissions.
• S. Andrei moved to adopt with these corrections, seconded by B. Lanier,  and passed.

CPSC 3350 and CPSC 3355 Deletions:

• Proposed by B. Lanier, seconded by S. Andrei and passed.

CPSC 4363 Addition,

• Pre-req. is COSC 1337 not 1336,
• Needs labels on DRC statement,
• Move Academic Honesty statement,
• Add attendance policy.
• B. Lanier moved to Accept with Changes, S. Andrei seconded and the motion passed.

Next meeting is set for Feb. 19.
