Announcements:

  • Christy Swanson is changing positions and will be replaced by Tammye Knowles.
  • Many people (8) are rolling off the council but have not yet been replaced. They will be added to the roster as we are made aware of their membership.

Election of Officers:

  • Eileen Curl self-nominated for vice-chair.
  • Boyd Lanier self-nominated for chair.
  • Nicki Michalski self-nominated for secretary.
  • All nominations were seconded by Paul Hemenway, and all were elected by acclamation.

CPSC 4317:

  • Molly Dahm made a motion to accept the course. The motion was seconded by Stefan Andrei and carried.

ELEN 2320:

  • There are overlaps on the grading scale that need to be fixed.
  • There is a typo on the word BlackBoard in the web site section of the syllabus.
  • Penalties need to be included in the academic honesty policy.
  • Eileen Curl made a motion to accept the course with changes. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.

ELEN 4317:

  • The following recommendations were made:
    • Put the course pre-requisites on the first page of the syllabus.
    • There is a typo in the attendance section. It should read “distributed” not “distributes”.
    • It would be helpful if there were separate syllabi for the hybrid and online sections rather than using a single syllabus for both.
  • Having the final exam and midterm listed one after the other on the course outline is confusing. It would be helpful to move the midterm to the middle of the list.
  • Nicki Michalski made a motion to approve the course but pass on the recommendations. Paul Hemenway seconded the motion, and it carried.

Adjournment: 4:10 p.m.
