Approval of the minutes: A motion for approval was made by Joe Kemble and seconded by Judy Smith. The motion carried.
Old Business:
- Bachelor of Science, Industrial Technology:
- The electives have been clarified as upper level.
- An actual list including all possible electives would be unwieldy and impossible to keep updated.
- The problem can be eliminated by removing “or other 3000 or 4000 level courses approved by BSIT advisor”.
- There is a typo in HIST 1301 that should be fixed.
- The department should double check with the College of Business that they are not including too many business classes. There is a recollection that the COB’s policy is 30 hours or less for non-majors.
- Judy Smith made a motion to approve the degree plan pending COB clearance. Tom Sowers seconded the motion and it carried. Judy Mann voted against via proxy.
New Business:
- MUSI 2160:
- The title on the syllabus needs to match the title on the form.
- Clarify the penalty in the attendance policy.
- There is a line missing from the DRC policy that needs to be replaced. It is a statement that students should notify faculty early if accommodations need to be made.
- Tom Sowers made a motion to approve the course addition with the noted revisions. Joe Kemble seconded the motion. The motion carried.
