  1. History of Committee

The last recorded meeting was in April 2018. Council did not meet in 2019. Dr. Ted Mahavier was a past Chair of the Council. Then, Craig Escamilla took over as Chair but is no longer serving due to job change. Executive Director, Retention & Student Services job position currently posted for application. A new Chair needs to be elected.

  1. New Charge for Committee

Mission of the Council has changed several times in the past. Aida will send the current charge to council members. A consultant helped with the Retention Strategic Plan in the past. The Retention Strategic Plan posted on Lamar’s website says “draft”. Jeremy will contact Katrina Brent and Provost about Strategic Plan.

  1. Election of Committee Chair

Brendan Gillis nominated Jeremy Alm. David Short seconded. Nomination approved unanimously.
