The meeting was called to order by Yinka Jenmy, Vice President, at 2:05pm.  Roll was taken by Stephanie Allen, Secretary, and a quorum was present.

Members present: Albertine Ambers, Angela Burke, Lauren Gatto, Ashley Glenn, Paula Gregory, Alicia Hargreaves, Charlene Hatch, Charlotte Holliman, Margo Hymer, Yolanda Monroe, Natalie Rhodes, Sharon Sanders, Ashley Sheehan, Julie Walker, Jon-Michael Wallace

Guest Speaker:  Our guest speaker was Dr. Jim Mann, LU Ombuds.  Dr. Mann talked about the new LU Ombuds program and provided a handout with additional information.

 

Committee Reports:

Bylaws Committee:  No report

Communications Committee:  No report

Community Service Committee:  Yolanda gave the following report:

  • Book Drive and Food Drive went very well
  • Wesley (where the Cardinals Pantry is housed) was very appreciative

Nominations Committee:  Jon-Michael gave the following report:

  • The nominations process will begin in June.

Staff Awards Committee:  Julie gave the following report:

  • The picnic was well-attended; great turn-out.
  • The picnic was well-received; everyone enjoyed it.

Staff Social Events Committee: Yinka gave the following report:

  • Has heard positive feedback for the Cardinal Floats and the picnic

Staff Relations Committee: Paula made the following report:

  • Perhaps use KUDOS as a way to connect with SC members who are not attending the meetings

Ad Hoc (Employee Initiative) Committee:  Sharlene will schedule a meeting for this committee to finalize report.

Ad Hoc (Centennial) Committee:  No report – the committee has not yet met.

 

Old Business:  The April 2022 Minutes were not approved via email.  Stephanie asked that the April 2022 Minutes be approved.  Yolanda made a motion and Julie seconded.  The motion passed and the April 2022 Minutes were approved.

 

New Business: Lauren asked about membership requirements for SC members.

 

Good of the Order:  There was no Good of the Order.

The next Staff Council meeting will be June 14, 2022 at 2:00pm, on the 8th floor of the Gray Library.  A calendar invite for this meeting was sent out on 2/16/2022.

 

Paula moved to adjourn the meeting and Julie seconded.

There being no further business, Yinka adjourned the meeting at 2:41pm.
