Attendees: Mamta Singh, Kurt Dyrhaug, Amy Smith, Ana Christensen, Scott Crawford, Chunda Chen, Xianchang Li, and Jerry Lin.

Not in attendance: All in attendance

Meeting called to order at 1:02 pm, by Dr. Jerry Lin

 

I. Review/Approval of March 2022 Council meeting minutes

i. Motion to approve by Ana Christensen

ii. Second motion to approve by Amy Smith

 

II. New policy draft & discussion – Institutional Base Salary

i. Uniform standards pay rates in Sponsored Programs

  1. Prevent abuse of funds
  2. Helps to level the pay field in the grant space
ii. Lamar University has never had a policy in place to prevent the pay rates abuse
  1. This policy will assist in reporting to the federal state
  2. Goal is to complete the IBS policy and in effect for FY23

iii. Policy draft provided and discussed page by page with Dr. Lin
  1. IBS – Institutional Based Salary
  2. FTE – Full Time Effort
  3. Teaching overload
  4. Planning for the deadlines
  5. Compliance with the policy
