I. Review/Approval of May 3, 2021 Council meeting minutes

Motion to approve the May 2021 minutes made by Ana Christensen

II. Approve Research Policy (LU MAPP format)

Jerry Lin: The consolidated research policy in LU MAPP format has been approved. Beverly Kemp will upload the policy on the ORSPA webpages.

III. Planning FY22

Jerry Lin: New website is available. Please review and let us know of any additional information which should be added.

IV. Roundtable

Jerry Lin: the first two policies that the graduate council will work on are: (1) closeout of research accounts with unspent funds, and (2) a uniform policy for internal grant review and award. In additional, all future external and internal grants will be reported in ORSPA’s annual grant report. 

Drs. Ken Young and Richard Gachot will be retiring from this committee at the end of the summer. I would like to express my appreciation of their comments and wisdom, as well as their service to the research community at Lamar University.

Ken Young:  Thank you for your leadership to this committee. I have been elected to another committee and I look forward to serving.
