Welcome and opening remarks: Diane Thibodeaux

  Ms. Thibodeaux gave an overview under the title of… What do you know about parking on campus?      

      In addition she gave a brief History of the Parking Office

The Parking Advisory Committee will be the eyes and ears for all things regarding parking lots and parking on campus.  Committee will be providing recommendations for improvement of parking on campus. Committee will be making decisions on parking violations and policy. 

Current Projects under Review and/or Being Updated:

• Inventory of all parking lots addressing surface condition, paint and signage.
• Web Page: https://www.lamar.edu/finance-and-operations/administrative-services/parking/index.html
• Policies and Procedures
• New Gate Technology for Reserved Lots will be installed and operational for the Fall 2018 semester.
• Parking Map revised for Fall 2018
• Parking violation appeals process
• Types of permits: Anyone who parks on campus must have a parking    Exceptions are visitors   

    parking in  authorized visitors spaces, Veterans as outlined by State of Texas statute described in the

    policy.

• Standardization of all Signage
• Towing
• Event Parking
• Parking Rates – Fund Balance for cost to recondition and maintain all parking lots.
