In the November meeting, the council voted to send back all items for correction, except for MISY 5395. For items MISY 5306, MISY 5315, and MISY 5360, they mentioned AI in the titles of the courses, but did not mention AI in the syllabi student learning outcomes, course objectives, or course descriptions. Also, MISY 5360, MISY 5330, and MISY 5340 neededmore explicit outcomes and course objectives that meet graduate level rigor.

The department has sent new, updated syllabi.

In the November meeting, the council voted to send this item back to the department for correction. The course objectives should be rewritten as they are currently written as a course description. The course objective and student learning outcomes were low level rigor and needed to be revised to match graduate level rigor. The council also made the recommendation to limit the number of course learning objectives use the ones that best highlighted the important takeaways from the course. Also, the syllabus should be in LU template and content in the syllabus should match the content in courseleaf.

The department did not send new, updated syllabi. The council will table this item and if updates are not sent by the January meeting, we will send the item back through courseleaf to the department.

Motion to Table ; 1:Neil Faulk; 2: Connie Howard

New ProgramProposal

2026 - 2027

It is designed to be flexible: students complete a core foundation (21 credits) and then choose 3 electives (9 credits) either across areas or within one of two structured tracks: Cybersecurity, and Analytics & Artificial Intelligence.Only three new courses, focused on artificial intelligence and analytics, will need to be created, while the existing analytics courses are being updated to reflect advances in the discipline.

The Council voted to approve the item, noting that artificial intelligence is a rapidly evolving area and that its role and impact within the academic environment may continue to change.
