Questions from group:
Zaloom – If students are struggling, what do you do for them?
Thill – set them up with tutor or writing center and encourage them to talk to professors
Chu – How do you find out they are struggling?
Thill – we get an email from their professors, the students also come to us and we get progress reports
Bradley – What is our response rate on progress reports from professors? How many time during a semester do we get them?
Thill – we get them 2-3 times a semester; not a good response rate from professors
Glenn – we will receive them by the end of the week this week
Bradley – Have you talked to the Department Heads about the progress reports?
Thill – yes, we try to reach out to the professors
Zaloom – Do we have a self-reporting system?
Thill – asking students is not the best system
Chu – Do we offer tutoring for the more advanced classes?
Cummings – We try to utilize STARS.
Thill – If we need to pay for a tutor, we can – it comes out of Academics budget. All freshman and transfer students are deemed at-risk and are given mandatory study-hall time. UAC is the primary advisor for freshman. Athletics advisors put together schedules and enter them in the system.
Chu – If they drop a course, are we notified?
Thill – We get a report every morning. She has the only stamp that can approve a change in major or a drop in class.
Thill – Track has implemented a system to ensure their athletes attend study hall. They will not be allowed to participate in a meet if they do not attend study hall. If they miss two meets because of study hall hours, they will be cut off of the team. Currently holding 7 athletes out of a meet because of study hall hours.
Chu – Talked to the President about a few things.
- Funding for tennis courts
- Volleyball locker room – willing to add a few, but not going to build a new one at this time
- The Athletic Director search is on-going, but will be finished sometime soon.
Bellard

- Baseball – LU Players Association had annual banquet; Will Davis has wish list – new turf, canopy area for reserved seating, new locker room and coaching offices, family pavilion inside complex; External group heading up fundraising effort, need approximately 7-8 million. President Evans has committed 1.5 million towards the project
- Basketball Coach of the Year – Harmony; Men finished in 6th place
- Softball – heading in the right direction
- Baseball – playing a lot of freshman, coach is building his team and culture
- Spring Football – March 29th at 6pm
Chu – Are we having an All Sports Banquet?
