IAC Meeting

April 20, 2017

Attendance:  Chu, Holmes, Hubbard, Mayer, Thill, Spina, Trylowsky  - Special Guest:  Tic Price

Meeting called to order at 2:03pm

Minutes Approved – Moved by Dr. Holmes, 2^nd by Dr. Mayer

Dr. Chu – This is the last time we will meet for the semester and the next time the committee meets there will be new members coming onboard.

Helene Thill introduced our Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Tic Price.

Tic Price

• When he took over the program three years ago, academics was at an all time low and they were on academic probation.
• They recruit high moral character athletes.
• Coaches do class checks and attendance is mandatory. Scholarships are not renewed if they do not attend class.
• Coaches meet with players two times a week.
• Progress reports are received and are addressed with the student-athletes.
• Athletes have weekly meetings with their academic coach.
• Every senior in the past three years has graduated.
• Team goal 3.0, if the athlete has 2.7, they are exempt from study hall.

Dr. Chu – Complimented Coach Price for his player’s kindness and character and for their very successful year.

Helene Thill

Football – Spring Football just ended and the coaches are now recruiting.

Men’s Basketball – Season is over.

Softball – Playing at McNeese this weekend.

Baseball – On the road in Abilene today.

Men’s Golf – Unable to participate in the conference tournament, but will be participating in a special tournament with Kentucky.

Women’s Golf –Placed 4^th in conference tournament.  Coach is out recruiting.

Men’s Tennis – Alumni match on Saturday, April 22. Playing in Corpus Christi tomorrow, April 21^st, if they win, they will be the champions.

Women’s Tennis – We are hosting the Southland Conference Tournament April 28-30 at Beaumont Municipal Tennis Center.

Soccer – finished Spring season.

Trylowsky – Discussion held as to when Homecoming is this year.  It is being held the first weekend of November.
