Mamta Singh, Ph.D.



Dr. Mamta Singh is an associate professor of science education in Teacher Education in College of Education & Human Development at Lamar University. Mamta Singh was awarded  Lamar University Distinguished Faculty Teaching Fellowship in 2018 Presidential Faculty Fellowship in 2016. Singh has a Ph.D. in biology from Texas State University-San Marcos. Singh has co-authored several local and federally funded grants and educational articles. She has worked as: Project Director: 21st Century Community Learning Centre (CCLC); Co-Project Director: Minority Science and Engineering Improvement Program (MSEIP); Project Director: NASA Science Engineering Mathematics Aerospace Academy (SEMAA).  Additionally, Singh has received several awards, scholarships, student travel grants, and an academic fellowship. She is an active member of several scientific and educational associations (e.g. National Association of Science Teachers (NSTA), National Association of Research in Science Teaching (NARST), National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT), Texas Academy of Science, Science Teachers Association of Texas (CAST).
