Class of 1973 Reunion
Dear Class of 1973,
We are counting on you to join us for your 50th class reunion to make our celebration complete! We hope you make plans to join us for your 50th Reunion Celebration on Saturday, October 7, 2023!
Your 50th college reunion is a milestone - a golden opportunity to commemorate your place in Lamar University's history and a natural time to reconnect with your alma mater. Please make plans to attend to renew old friendships and share memories of the time you spent together as students. And celebrate Lamar University turning 100!
The cost of the reunion is $20 per person and includes the reunion meet and greet and Golden Circle Luncheon. The deadline to register to attend was Friday, September 29, 2023. Registration is now closed. - 10:00am Class of 1973 Meet and Greet, Cypress I and II Rooms 125 and 127, Dr. Richard W. Setzer Student Center (Check in begins at 9:30am)
- 11:30am Golden Circle Luncheon, Live Oak Ballroom, Dr. Richard W. Setzer Student Center (Check in and Welcome Reception begins at 11:00am)
- 1:30pm Campus Tours
- 3:00pm Lamar University v. Northwestern State University Football Game, Provost Umphrey Stadium
Dress for all reunion events are casual. We encourage you to wear your favorite Cardinal Red!
Football Game
Lamar University vs. Northwestern State Football Game kickoff is at 3:00pm at Provost Umphrey Stadium. Lamar University Alumni who register for the Class of 1973 Reunion will receive green section tickets included with their event registration upon request.
Lamar University Alumni not attending the reunion may purchase tickets in the green section in advance at the discounted price of $10 each. Tickets may be purchased online, or by calling the Lamar University Ticket Office at 409-880-1715, or visiting the ticket office in the Montagne Center in person before game day by October 6, 2023. Be sure to ask for the Lamar University Alumni discount when calling or visiting in person. Discounted tickets will not be available on game day.
Lodging
Blocks of rooms have been reserved at the Hampton Inn, 3795 I-10 S, Beaumont, TX 77705, for the reduced rate of $92/night plus tax for a Standard Double or Standard King room with a Micro Refrigerator (complimentary hot breakfast buffet, free parking, free in-room wifi, outdoor pool, and fitness center).
Reservations may be made by calling the hotel directly at (409) 840-9922 while rooms last. Please mention that you will be attending Lamar University's Golden Circle Reunion when making your reservation over the phone in order to receive this discounted rate.
If you prefer to stay in your RV while in Beaumont, please visit the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau's website to locate the park that best fits your needs.
