Lamar University is pleased to be hosting our third juried art exhibition for Lamar University alumni titled "After School Special". This exciting exhibition offers an opportunity for LU graduates from across the country and around the world to share their creative work at the Dishman Art Museum. The exhibition will consist of 8-10 artists, each of whom will be represented by the body of work they entered.

The Dishman opened its doors in 1983 as an Art Gallery. Located on the campus of Lamar University, it serves as a teaching facility by hosting new and innovative exhibitions by faculty, students, and nationally known artists. Renamed the Dishman Art Museum in 2003, it is a showplace that contributes significantly to the cultural opportunities of the region.

After School Special is open to any graduate of Lamar University. ALL MEDIA will be considered. Entrants must submit 5-7 images from a specific body of work; however, artists may submit up to two different applications.

Video artists may submit 1-2 entries and must supply the equipment necessary to show their videos during the exhibition. The Dishman does not provide video projectors. Video work should not exceed 5 minutes.

Sculpture should not exceed a 5' x 5' footprint and should not be higher than 7'. Entrants of sculpture can enter up to 4 works. Each work should also include specific instructions for assembly or display if necessary. If the work is wall mounted, the entrant must enter 5-7 images.
