LU releases Spring 2016 enrollment figures
Lamar University’s enrollment and semester credit hours both set new records, officials announced today.
In headcount, LU posted 14,056 enrolled, up just four students (up .03 percent) compared to Spring 2015. While the increase is slight, it does set an all-time record for spring enrollment at the university, said Kevin Smith, senior associate provost.
“All instruction Semester Credit Hours are up 2 percent over last year,” Smith said, “setting an all-time spring record reaching 152,256 hours.”
“Most of our growth over last spring was at the undergraduate level,” Smith said. Concurrently, graduate enrollment fell some compared to last spring, Smith said.
