LU presents industry leader in Weinert Entrepreneurial Lecture
The Michael G. Weinert Entrepreneurial Lecture Series presents Anthony George, CEO of Nautical Control Solutions and founder and president of Control Dynamics International, in a public lecture, 11:10 a.m., Nov. 17 in Landes Auditorium in the College of Business. The lecture is free and open to the public.
George, an entrepreneur and inventor for 25 years in the fields of automation and control systems engineering and marine fuel management systems, graduated from Lamar University in 1988 with a degree in physics.
Nautical Control Solutions, LP, provides integrated marine fuel management and includes FuelTrax, a vessel monitoring system that delivers vessel conditions in real-time; FuelNet, a Web portal that provides visibility to fuel accountability and vessel operations over the Internet; and a marine operators' PDA that enables crew members to see fuel levels, refills, and vessel conditions. The company was founded in 2006 and headquartered in Houston.
Control Dynamics International, LP was founded in 1991 and is based in Houston. It engages in the design, manufacture and implementation of automated control systems for the energy industry in the United States and internationally.
Control Dynamics International, LP designs and implements subsea master control stations, blowout preventer control systems, mud pump control systems, pipeline SCADA systems, gas compressor stations, gas plant cryogenic systems, tank farms and tank batteries, refining and petrochemical process control systems, and plant power distribution systems for upstream, midstream, and downstream segments of the hydrocarbon supply chain, including oil and gas exploration and production, pipeline transportation, petroleum refining, and petrochemicals manufacturing.
In 2010, Control Dynamics International, LP became a subsidiary of ENGlobal Automation Group, Inc.
George is also a founding member of the Woodlands chapter of The Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a global network for entrepreneurs providing peer-to-peer learning, experiences, and connections to experts, with more than 11,000 members in 153 chapters in 48 countries.
The endowment that funds the lecture series was established in 2011 by Michael Weinert, a decorated military officer with more than three decades of service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Coast Guard. Weinert, who holds two graduate degrees from Lamar University, created the endowment to provide funds to bring dynamic, high profile entrepreneurs to the university for lectures in entrepreneurship.
