Moss Family Scholarship established at LU

The Lamar University Foundation has announced an endowed scholarship has been established for graduates of West Hardin High School. The Moss Family Scholarship will provide funding for outstanding students to further their studies at Lamar.

Jessie Mae Moss established the Moss Family Scholarship, a legacy gift, for graduates of West Hardin High School to honor her parent’s dedication to education.  Her father, Jess Morgan Moss was born in Batson and her mother, Parthenia Bishop Moss was born in Saratoga.  Jessie attended the University of Texas.  She was an avid collector of antiques, art, dishes, dolls and many other items.

“This generous endowment will provide many opportunities for graduates of West Hardin High School to attend Lamar University,” said Floyd McSpadden, Lamar University Director of Planned Giving.
