Employee Assistance Program

As of January 1, 2023, Lamar's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work-Life Services are offered through Interface Behavioral Health.

Family and Medical Leave

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitles eligible employees of Lamar University to take unpaid, job-protected leave for specified family and medical reasons with continuation of group health insurance coverage under the same terms and conditions as if the employee had not taken leave.

Workers' Compensation

The Workers' Compensation Act covers on-the-job injuries that occur in the course and scope of employment and that result in damage or harm to the body. It also covers occupational diseases directly caused by exposure in the workplace.

Employee Education and Training Plan

The Employee Education and Training Plan provides employees of Lamar University with assistance in obtaining additional college-level education and training to increase their value to the university. Learn more about faculty/staff course enrollment (PDF).

Lamar University Tuition Assistance Program (LUTAP)

The Lamar University Tuition Assistance Program (PDF) is designed to provide 100% of resident tuition to a spouse and/or eligible dependent children of full-time Lamar University employees.

Employees, retirees and their immediate families can use the Texas State Employee Discount Purchase Program to receive discounts on many products and services, from computers to theme park passes.
