Golden Pass LNG presents scholarships to biology department

Representatives from Golden Pass LNG visited Lamar University on Friday, May 3 to present a generous donation of $8,000 to LU’s biology department.   Check Presentation

The donation will be allocated to provide one-time scholarships to four deserving environmental science majors  This financial assistance will aid students in their academic pursuits and alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with higher education. 

“Our goal is to make sure students have access to industry professionals who can come in and provide presentations, and training them,” Safety Security Health and Environment professional at Golden Pass LNG Winnie Schubert said. “Additionally, we aim to have scholarships that enhance educational activity and allow students to go to conferences and receive extracurricular education that focuses on providing practical application.”

The company's representatives are eager to continue their collaboration with the university and further contribute to the advancement of education and research in the field of biology and environmental science.

These scientific backgrounds inform environmental science programs, guiding testing and analysis procedures essential to the myriad processes within our operation,” Schubert said.
