Severe storms in Kirbyville led to flooding near the east side of the city, April 10.

Roads were ripped apart and schools in the nearby area were closed due to the damage caused by storms. Some civilians were trapped by water in the more intensely flooded areas and had to be pulled up by rescue boats.

Several organizations such as Red Cross, JStar Ministries and locals from other cities stepped in to help Kirbyville in their hour of need

Homes and schools in the area are still facing damage from the storms.

Kirbyville resident and Lamar University senior Taylor Justice had difficulty reaching Lamar, Wednesday, and took photos of the situation.
