Spring break — a week that college students across the country look forward to de-stress from the entity known as college. It is a week synonymous with going to the beach, traveling abroad, or even just relaxing at home. Spring break is almost here, it’s so close, one can almost taste it.

However, there are some who can get carried away and their break becomes a few days in the county jail for public intoxication or throwing up in the bathroom. But there are ways to prevent this from happening.

Don’t get carried away with partying and drinking. Recognize individual limits and stick to them.

Sometimes too much fun can lead to bad actions and unwanted consequences.

When drinking, make sure there is a designated driver — it’s never worth it to drive drunk.

Practice common sense. Don’t jump off roofs or do stupid things, it probably won’t end well.

Make the best of the break and prepare for the final stretch of the semester. Catch up on schoolwork if necessary — it’s just one week of vacation, so not an excuse to completely blow off classes.

Graduation is just around the corner, the semester is almost finished. Enjoy the bliss before finals.
