To be considered for admission, the student's application and interview must be completed by June 1st. This means all test scores and recommendations must be submitted during the month of May. If you are interested in applying, we urge you to submit early. You DO NOT need test scores to start the application process. You may apply and indicate your test date on the application. The deadline for admission is June 1. 

When we have reached our maximum enrollment of 100 students, qualified applicants will be placed on a waitlist.

Requirements for Admission

  • Must be a Texas resident
  • Currently be enrolled, or have completed Algebra II and Geometry
  • Must have taken an SAT and/or ACT exam to determine college readiness.

What is considered college ready on your test?

SAT - 480+ on Reading/Writing Section and 560+ on Math Section

ACT - 40+ on English/Reading Section and 22+ on Math Section

If you have NOT tested, please submit your application and schedule your test. This will help us move forward in the admissions process while we wait for official scores.            Schedule your SAT and/or Schedule your ACT. 

STEP 2

Submitting your application:

When completing your Texas Academy Application, you will need the following:
  • Essay about your career goals, and why you would be a good fit for Texas Academy
  • Names and email of a teacher, and counselor/principal who will complete an evaluation form for you.
  • Unofficial transcript
  • If you have tested, screenshot of scores

There is a $25 non-refundable application fee that must be paid prior to review of your application. This $25 will be applied to the $100 Student Services Fee upon acceptance to the Texas Academy.

Interview

The final step in the acceptance process is an interview with the Texas Academy Staff. After review of your essay and letters, you will be contacted via email to schedule an interview and additional steps will be given at that time.
