Proposing a Study Abroad Program

Lamar University Faculty Members:

The Global Studies and Study Abroad Advisory Committee is accepting proposals for Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs for the 2018 winter-break term, and for the 2019 spring, may-mini, summer, fall, and winter-break terms.

Please review all of the Faculty Documents as they pertain to completing a study-abroad proposal. In addition to the application form itself, we have attempted to provide other helpful material on the updated website, material such as: proposal requirements, student eligibility, how to develop a faculty-led study abroad program, some points to consider during program development, budgeting issues, mandatory orientation sessions, and hyperlinks to important government websites.

In completing your Faculty-Led Study Abroad course proposal be aware that it must consist of the following four items:

  1. Course Proposal
  2. Rationale for Teaching the Course in a Foreign Country
  3. Comprehensive Course Syllabus
  4. Contingency Plan Form
