Being an officer for the Lamar University Dance Team requires much dedication and responsibility. Our officers dedicate their time because of their desire to improve and make their team the best it can possibly be.

It takes someone with a big heart to care for all our team members. If you're interested in becoming an officer, you'll need much love and respect for the organization, its present, and its future.

It is both a growing experience and an honor to be an officer for the Lamar University Dance Team!

Emily Sumrall

Officer Emily Sumrall is a sophomore from Port Neches, Texas. She's majoring in Communication/ Advertising and plans to work for an advertising agency in Houston after graduation.

Fun Fact: “I'm obsessed with my Yorkie!”

Callie Macon

Captain Callie Macon is a senior from Nederland, Texas majoring in Education. After graduation, she plans to become an elementary teacher near Nederland, and to teach dance classes to young students.

Fun Fact: “I love to cook and bake anything and everything!"

Nicole Hardy

Head Officer Nicole Hardy, originally from Columbus, Ohio, is a senior Education major. After graduation, she plans to keep dancing and begin her teaching career.

Fun Fact: “I live in Frisco, Texas!”

Tessa Runte

Officer Tessa Runte is a junior Accounting major from Port Neches, Texas. After graduation, she plans to continue at LU to earn her MSA and sit for the CPA exam. Eventually, she'll work as an auditor for an accounting firm.

Fun Fact: “I enjoy traveling and trying new foods from all over, and I also love dogs!”

Mikayla Havard

Officer Mikayla Havard is a junior from Groves, Texas majoring in American Sign Language. She plans to be a high school ASL teacher.

Fun Fact: “I have an obsession with mermaids!”

Malorie Broussard

Officer Malorie Broussard from Port Neches-Groves, Texas is a sophomore Dental Hygiene major. After graduating, she plans to go straight to work in a dentist's office while keeping a strong connection to dance.

Fun Fact: “I currently study at Lamar’s neighboring 2-year school, the Lamar Institute of Technology.”
