Recruitment Clinics

All remaining Cheer Clinics are cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. For more information about the LU Cheer Team, email Kelsey Baden at

The Lamar University Cheerleading program hosts recruiting clinics each Spring semester. These clinics are open to all high school juniors and seniors and college students interested in becoming a cheerleader at the collegiate level.

LU Cheer clinics are a great way to see the LU Cheer Team is all about. Participants will practice with current team members and learn new skills from our highly trained coaching staff. Clinics focus on stunting, tumbling (based on ability), basic and advanced skills, and tips and techniques for tryouts.

Clinics are not mandatory to become an LU Cheerleader, but are highly encouraged.

LU Cheer clinics are closed to the public. Parents, families, and spectators will not be allowed in the gym during class.
