The Event Services Office in the Setzer Student Center is here to meet the event planning needs of LU student organizations, faculty, and staff.

Student organizations, LU colleges and departments, and off-campus organizations are welcomed to plan their next event at the Setzer Student Center!

A/V Equipment

The Event Services Office has standard audio-visual equipment available, including a sound system that may be utilized for your event. Trained technicians may be contracted to handle all of your specific needs.


A full-service caterer is located on campus to serve all event needs. Dining Services will give you customized assistance in planning your catered events.

About the Reservation Process

  • Requests for small-attendance (1-99 expected attendees) and medium-attendance (100-249 expected attendees) events must be submitted at least 14 business days in advance of the planned event date.
  • Requests for large-attendance (250+ expected attendees) events must be submitted at least 40 business days in advance of the planned event date.
  • Requests for tabling (members of your organization sit at a table on the sidewalk) must be submitted at least 7 business days in advance of the planned tabling date.
  • Requests for food sales must be submitted at least 14 business days in advance of the planned food sale event.
  • If your event is cancelled, you must submit the Event Cancellation Form at least 48 hours (2 business days) before your event start time. Failure to submit this form will result in a no-show fine of at least $25 to your organization's account.
  • For disability-related accommodations, please contact the Special Events Coordinator, and if necessary, the Disability Resource Center at 409-880-8347 at least 7 business days prior to the event.
  • The Event Services Office will assist student organizations and university departments in arranging audio/visual equipment, event set-up and take-down, and will guide their clients in following university policies on food, marketing, and security.
