Omicron Delta Kappa is LU's Leadership Honor Society. ODK recognizes top students who have leadership experience in these areas at LU:

  • Scholarship
  • Athletics
  • Campus or Community Service
  • Social and Religious Activities
  • Campus Government, Journalism, Speech and Mass Media
  • Creative and Performing Arts

Applications

Sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students with leadership experience in any of these areas and a minimum 3.0 GPA are encouraged to apply during each fall semester.

The purpose of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society is threefold:

  • To recognize those who have attained a high standard of leadership in collegiate activities and to inspire others to strive for conspicuous attainments along similar lines.
  • To bring together the most representative students in all phases of collegiate life and thus to create an organization which will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate interest.
  • To bring together members of the faculty and student body of the institution as well as other Omicron Delta Kappa members on a basis of mutual interest, understanding, and helpfulness.

Requirements for induction into the Lamar University Circle of ODK:

Class standing: Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Level

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Must create an ODK account and submit an application by Sunday, October 13, 2024.

Initiation fee of $94-includes lifetime membership and pin (only to be paid if accepted into ODK). If accepted, your dues will be due by October 20, 2024.

Induction will be held on November 11, 2024 at 6 pm. 

Demonstrated leadership in at least two of the five areas:

  • Scholarship
  • Athletics
  • Campus/Community Service, Social/Religious Activities, and Campus Government
  • Journalism, Speech and the Mass Media
  • Creative and Performing Arts
