IACUC - Institutional Animal Care and Use

iacucThe Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee oversees the welfare of any animals used in experimental research, their care and facilities, as directed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Institutes of Health.

All animal related research at Lamar University must be reviewed by the Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and will be required to follow regulatory requirements set forth by OLAW and or the USDA.


"Working with the IACUC" is the required training course that is offered within CITI. Is it intended for laboratory research personnel who will write animal-use protocols for review by the IACUC.

All signatures are required.
All research involving invertebrates including fish, wildlife studies, horses, and or other farm related research require Lamar's IACUC oversight and approval.
