Adaptive Instructional Models

Adaptive instructional models will focus on technology in the classroom with interaction built into it. This strategy would allow us to hold the attention of students and make Lamar University classes more universal. The models will consists of two main elements:

  • The principle of this strategy stems from a trend that advocates that classrooms move from a more traditional lecture-based infrastructure and transition into a learning-based infrastructure.
  • Adaptive Instructional Models also proposes a sustainable database of workshops embedded into our Blackboard service. This would offer supplementary instruction to student classes in the form of short interactive videos.


Transition to a learning-based infrastructure would allow for better education and higher retention of Lamar students.
Supplementary videos would allow the ability to pause and rewind which enables better learning in both specific courses as well as in general learning.
Videos would also help centralize information for instructors.
