Eta Sigma Gamma

Eta Sigma Gamma has enjoyed a rich history of partnering with other professional health organizations to promote the profession of health education and health promotion since 1967.

Our local chapters at more than 100 universities and colleges in the U.S. enhance the professional development of students through involvement in health education activities, providing leadership and advocacy opportunities, recognizing academic achievements, and networking experiences with health professionals and fellow Gammans.

Eta Sigma Gamma

Membership for students in Eta Sigma Gamma can only be achieved by affiliating with a collegiate chapters. Requirements for admission into the Delta Omicron chapter at Lamar University include:

  • Health major or minor in a four-year or graduate level program
  • GPA of 2.7 or above
  • Approval of current members by majority vote
  • Attendance at meetings
  • Participation in 10 hours of community service per semester
  • Participation in education and research activities
  • Initiation fee of $40 and chapter dues of $5 per month
