LU offers Study Abroad Fair October 11

Lamar University is hosting a Study Abroad Fair on the Brooks-Shivers Dining Hall lawn 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. October 11.

Students will be informed about the opportunities and the benefits of studying abroad. Faculty members will be present to share about many faculty-led programs available at LU. Students who have studied abroad in the past will also be in attendance to share their stories and experiences.

There are a number of scholarships, grants, and fellowships that are available for study abroad, including the Study Abroad Fee Grant, Creative Cardinal Scholarship, Generation Study Abroad Scholarship, Gilman Scholarship and more. Further information about funding and opportunities will be available at the Study Abroad Fair.

LU plans to offer 20 faculty-led programs and five semester exchange opportunities this coming year for students of all levels.  The Study Abroad office is constantly working to better meet the needs of students by expanding the diversity of study abroad opportunities. Programs are available during spring break, summer terms, the May Mini sessions, and the normal fall/spring semesters.

While maintaining successful study arrangements in China, Japan, England, France, Spain, and Ireland, the Study Abroad office has expanded their programs for engineering majors, as well as in professional fields like business and nursing, and offers new locations in Latin America, Asia, and Eastern Europe.
