Robbins leads Career and Professional Development

Jocelyn RobbinsJocelyn Robbins has joined the Division of Student Engagement as director of Career & Professional Development after a national search.  

"Jocelyn brings experience from business, banking and health care in human resource development and recruitment as well as a strong understanding of the work environment and skill sets our students will need for their career choices." said Vicki McNeil, vice president for Student Engagement.

Previously Robbins served as human resources specialist for Mid-South, human resources coordinator for Harbor Hospital of Southeast Texas and human resource associate for Conn's Appliances Inc.  In these positions she has handled employee development, staff supervision, compliance and employee relations, EEOC investigations, as well as recruitment for new hires and web-based management of HRIS systems. She has worked with the Texas Workforce Commission on unemployment claims.

She holds a MBA from Lamar University and BBA with a major in Human Resources Management from Baylor University.

She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management Association (SHRM) and serves on the Board of Southeast Texas Hike and Bike
Coalition.
