Associate Degree in Nursing 40th anniversary celebration

The JoAnne Gay Dishman Department of Nursing will host Associate Degree in Nursing alumni for a 40th Anniversary Celebration of the founding of the Lamar ADN program.

The celebration will be held on Saturday, May 3, at the Setzer Center Ballroom. The reception will start at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m.

The founding director of the ADN program, Doris Price Nealy, will be the keynote speaker.

Over the past 40 years, more than 3,000 nurses graduated from Lamar University's ADN program. Many of these graduates are excellent nurses in clinical agencies throughout Southeast Texas and beyond.

Organizations that employ these outstanding LU ADN graduates can honor the graduate via table sponsorships, which are available for the celebration. The Platinum Sponsorship -$750 – honors two LU ADN honorees and includes eight banquet tickets with premier seating. The Gold Sponsorship - $400 – honors one LU ADN honoree and includes four banquet tickets with premier seating.

A representative from the honoring clinical agencies will be able to share a few words at the banquet why their specific nurse was selected to be honored.

To honor a nurse, please email the following information about the honoree: name, year graduated with ADN, additional education received and why the Lamar alum is being honored.
