Registration begins for winter mini, spring 2014 classes

Registration for winter mini-session and spring 2014 classes at Lamar University begins this week.

Special populations of students, including athletes, honor students, military personnel (active duty and veterans), seniors and students with disabilities can register starting Thursday, Nov. 7. Open registration for all admitted students begins Thursday, Nov. 14.

The winter mini-session will run from Dec. 12 to Jan. 9, allowing students to earn college credit in a short time period. Spring classes will begin Monday, Jan. 13.

Before registering for classes, most students are required to meet with an academic advisor. Those with fewer than 60 credit hours (freshmen and sophomores) should contact the Undergraduate Advising Center for an advising appointment at or (409) 880-8822. Juniors and seniors can find contact information for advisors at

To be able to choose the classes that are most convenient for them, current students are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Please look online at for links to class schedules and related information.

Prospective students are asked to submit application materials as soon as possible so they can be considered for admission. New undergraduate students must submit all application materials no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, to be considered for Spring 2014 admission. Required application materials include an online application completed at, copies of all transcripts (high school for entering freshmen, college for transfers) and SAT or ACT test scores for those with fewer than 18 hours of college credit.
