Registration begins for May Mini, Summer, Fall classes

Open registration will begin Monday, April 23 for Lamar University’s May mini, summer and fall sessions.

Current students are encouraged to register as soon as possible, so they will be able to take the classes they want at the times most convenient for them. Prospective students are asked to submit application materials as soon as possible, so they can be considered for admission and complete other steps required of new students prior to registration.

The May mini-session will run from May 18 to June 5.

Four summer sessions will be offered. Early Summer (Summer I) will be June 6 to July 11. Late Summer (Summer II) will be July 12 to Aug. 15. Full Summer (Summer III) will be June 6 to Aug. 15. Mid Summer (Summer IV) will be June 20 to July 25.

Fall classes will begin Aug. 27.

Registration began Monday, April 16, for special populations, which includes athletes, seniors, honors students and students with disabilities. Open registration begins Monday, April 23.

New students must apply and be admitted to Lamar University and meet with an academic advisor before registering for classes. To be considered for Fall 2012 admission, new undergraduate students must submit all application materials no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10. Required application materials include an online application completed at, copies of all transcripts (high school for entering freshmen, college for transfers) and test scores (SAT or ACT for those with fewer than 18 hours of college credit). After being accepted for admission, new students will be required to complete additional steps - including attending orientation and providing proof of bacterial meningitis immunization or exemption - prior to registering for classes.
