High school students can preview college life at Open House on April 2

High school students and college transfers will have an opportunity to learn about everything that Lamar University has to offer at a Spring Open House scheduled for Saturday, April 2.

“This is an excellent opportunity for high school seniors who are finalizing college plans to take a closer look at Lamar University,” said Maggie Cano, director of recruitment. “We also want to show high school juniors and sophomores who are beginning their college search why Lamar University would be such a great choice with all the excitement on campus.”

The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a welcome from Lamar University President James Simmons in the Montagne Center. Later, college meetings will allow prospective students to learn more about academic programs from deans and professors. Throughout the morning, representatives will be available to answer questions about financial aid and student services.

Prospective students can find out about college life from current Lamar students at the student organization fair, which will showcase the many clubs and organizations at LU.

Visitors will also be able to tour Lamar University’s top-notch new facilities, including the Cardinal Village residence halls and Sheila Umphrey Recreational Sports Center, and enjoy lunch in the gourmet dining hall for only $6.
