Eligibility Requirements

    • 1) cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • 2) 45 completed undergraduate semester hours
    • 3) Be a first-generation / low-income undergraduate student

    • Be a member of a group underrepresented in graduate study (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander)

How to Apply

Eligible students can obtain an application from the McNair Scholars Program office inside the Communication Building, Suite 106 or can click the link above. 

Applicants will go through a 4-step process to become a Scholar:

    • Applicants will be checked to determine eligible GPA and hours.
    • Applicants will be classified as first-generation/low-income and/or underrepresented student.
    • Application will be reviewed by the Selection Committee to determine students who will receive an interview.
    • Approved applicants will receive an interview offer to allow the Selection Committee to determine the applicant's educational goals and fit with the program.
