Steps to Conflict Resolution

STEP 1 - Try to resolve the conflict directly

The first step for resolving most conflicts is to contact the specific person or department most directly connected with the issue at hand. We have issues matched with contact information for most services on campus in the Student Complaints: A  Brief Guide for Online Students.

If you are unable to resolve the conflict, see Step 2.

STEP 2 - Contact the Complaint Resolution Advocate

If you are unsure about who to contact or have been unsuccessful and need more assistance with a complaint, contact the Complaint Resolution Advocate by:

Out of State Students:

Lamar University and LU Online desire to resolve student grievances, complaints and concerns in a quick, fair and amicable manner. All students, including those residing outside of the State of Texas while attending Lamar University, who desire to resolve a grievance should follow the University's Student Grievance Procedure.

However, if an issue cannot be resolved internally, a student may file a complaint with the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) representative. For LU Online students that would be:
