Don't Fall for Fake News

With the volume and speed which information travels online, it is sometimes difficult to determine the good from the bad. The recent increase in false news stories following major events or regarding public figures or ideas have made this task even more challenging. This REDtalk will demonstrate how to identify and combat misleading and false news information encountered on social media and other online environments. Following the session you will be able to define "Fake News," identify its characteristics and environments, develop tactics for correcting misinformation and identify responsible information sharing behaviors.
