Model United Nations

As members of the largest youth generation in history, Reaud Honors students are uniquely poised to become engaged global leaders who can confront the problems of today and tomorrow.

A leader in developing international youth diplomacy, Model United Nations equips Reaud Honors delegates with skill sets that empower them to proactively rise to the challenge of solving complex global issues and to make an impact on enabling all people to live in dignity. These skill sets include:

  • Global Fluency
  • Public Speaking
  • Debate & Critical Thinking
  • Teamwork Competency

With nearly half of the world’s population under the age of 25, young people are at the heart of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which US Youth Observer Nicol Perez described as a “transformative plan of action to end extreme poverty, inequality, and climate disruption.”

The Reaud Honors College creates opportunities for Honors students to experience person-to-person global engagement by participating in:

These meaningful interactions allow Reaud Honors delegates to debate real-world issues in a simulated environment, where they engage across cultures to create shared understanding. As they analyze a country’s perspective on global issues, students develop empathy and expand their cultural competence, skills that are in high demand among both employees and employers.

The Reaud Honors College encourages its students to take a seat at the decision-making table because, as the largest youth generation ever, they will soon be the ones driving change.
