What is the LU Global Expo and High School Showcase?

This is an opportunity for your students to exhibit language skills, global knowledge, and artistic talents. It will also give them an opportunity to learn about the Reaud Honors College, grants, and scholarships available to them at Lamar University.

The event will consist of a poster competition and a talent showcase. There will also be informational programs about grants and scholarships availability for high school students. All in all, it will be a fun day in which students will have the chance to present their global knowledge, language skills, and artistic accomplishments while meeting other students from regional high schools and Lamar University.

Grant-fee Waiver:

This year, the Reaud Honors College at LU has decided to provide a grant for the first 200 students registered to participate in the 2018 Global Expo and High School Showcase. This means high school students will receive a waiver for the registration fee. Also, besides the poster award winners, all participants will receive a certificate of participation. This represents a great resume builder.

The Theme for 2018 for the poster competition is: Texas in the World. Showcase presentations may choose to reflect this theme during the showcase.

Timeline:

  • Proposal submissions (please see below for online submission information): open until January 9, 2018 extended to January 17, 2018 at 12 p.m.
