Can I still apply for Financial Aid?

If you have not yet applied for financial aid for the Fall Semester, it is not too late. Simply go to www.FAFSA.ed.gov to complete the application.

Will the semester be extended?

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has issued guidance that LU does NOT have to make up the contact hours missed as part of any face-to-face or online classes canceled during the time the University was officially closed (1 p.m. Friday, August 25, to 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 5. Consequently, LU will NOT extend the Fall 2017 semester, nor will it require that canceled classes and class assignments due during this time period be made up.

What if I lost my parking pass?

We completely understand. Once you are able to return to campus, please go to the parking office located in the front of the Wimberly building and they will get you taken care of. No need to worry about that at this time.

What about books?

Due to the interruption in mail delivery to campus, the LU Bookstore has not received pre-ordered text books. We are working with the Bookstore for delivery of textbooks.

We understand that your class books are not available at present. The faculty will provide you with alternative ways for course materials (i.e., online publications and articles) when classes start online through LU Learn on Sept. 5th.

The campus bookstore, however, is currently open from 9am - 4pm. Hours may vary.

How can I volunteer or donate to others?

Students can join the Lamar University Harvey Heroes and earn 3 free credit hours towards an internship for performing community service.
