The Lamar University Scholarship Dinner is an important event that connects our scholarship donors with those students who have received their generous support. Attendance is required for all students accepting named scholarships.

How can I find the name of my scholarship?

  1. Go to Lamar.edu
  2. In the top lefthand corner, choose LU Connect
  3. Choose Students
  4. Select myScholarships (third row, middle icon)
  5. Log in using your LEA username and password
  6. Once logged in, select Applications at the top
  7. Scroll down to the Archive section. This section shows any scholarship you have been awarded through the myScholarship system.
  8. Choose the name of the scholarship you wish to view. This will open the scholarship details including donor information.

In the event you were awarded your scholarship in late fall or spring, your scholarship will not show in your applications. In this case:

  1. Go to Lamar.edu
  2. In the top lefthand corner, choose LU Connect
  3. Choose Students
  4. Select myScholarships (third row, middle icon)
  5. Log in using your LEA username and password
  6. Once logged in, hover over Opportunities
  7. Select All
  8. In the search bar, type the name of the scholarship you are receiving
  9. Choose the name of the scholarship you wish to view. This will open the scholarship details including donor information.

What should I to wear to the Scholarship Dinner?

Women:

  • Skirt and blouse
  • Slacks and blouse
  • Dress

Men:

  • Slacks and button-down shirt
  • Coat and tie

Do you have any suggestions for conversation with my donor?

Suggested topics include:

  • How the scholarship has benefitted you
  • Ask about the donor's business or community interests
  • Your work history and your career path
  • Your school experiences
  • Where did the donor go to school
  • What was the donor's career path
  • Possible contacts for your future
  • Possibly request the donor's contact information

Where is the Scholarship Dinner and how early should I arrive?

The Scholarship Dinner takes place at the Montagne Center. Students will enter through the far door on the left side of the building. Arrive 15 minutes early to allow for check-in.
