The department also provides students opportunities to perform in multiple instrumental and vocal ensembles, regardless of their major field of study. We full immerse students in the cultural study of music, its composition, performance techniques, education, history, and more.

It establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for music and music-related disciplines, and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other music-related endeavors.
