Estimated Cost of Attendance

The Cost of Attendance (COA), also called a budget, is an estimate of what it costs the typical student to attend Lamar University for one academic year. This estimate includes both billable costs (such as tuition and fees) and non-billable costs (such as transportation and personal expenses) that a student may reasonably incur. Actual tuition and fees are billed to the student account. The COA can be viewed by visiting Self-Serve Banner and visiting Financial Aid Self-Service.

Your COA will vary based on:

• Housing plans (on-campus, off-campus, or with parents)
• Residency status (Texas resident or non-resident)
• Program of study
• Instructional method

What’s Included

The COA consists of the following components unless enrolled less than-half-time:

• Tuition & Fees
• Books/Supplies
• Living Expenses (food and housing)
• Transportation
• Personal Expenses
• Loan Fees (For loan recipients)

Enrollment Status

Initial COAs and financial aid awards are based on full-time enrollment. Adjustments will be made if you are enrolled less than full-time or attending courses that do not span the entire semester.

Your COA determines the maximum amount of financial aid you can receive. It’s not necessarily what you will pay, but an estimate to help you plan your finances.

Below you will find the COA or budgets for an undergraduate student enrolled in at least 15 credit hours for the fall and spring semesters The budgets below do not apply to graduate students or students enrolled in the on-line accelerated program.
