Call to Order: 3:30 p.m.

Approval of Minutes: Lula Henry made a motion to approve the minutes from the summer’s virtual meeting. Nicki Michalski seconded the motion and it carried.

Discussion: Boyd Lanier informed the group that all UUCC forms have been updated.

Business:

B.S. Speech and Hearing Science

• The questions we had were answered by Monica Harn.
• Lula Henry made a motion to approve the degree plan subject to the 4330 pre-requisite being removed from 4336 and 4338. Nicki Michalski seconded the motion, and it carried.

• The council is unclear what is meant by “higher level math” and wants clarification. Also, how can students know their MATH readiness score?
• Remove the second statement of the pre-requisites from the syllabus but leave the note in place.
• Lula Henry made a motion to approve the course with changes. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

• Zanthia Smith made a motion to accept the deletion of the course. Stefan Andrei seconded the motion, and it carried.

• There are some grammar issues on the submission form that will be corrected.
• There has been no answer to our question about whether there are four or eight exams.
• The pre-requisites on the form and syllabus do not match.
• What counts as a “social science course”?
• Nicki Michalski made a motion to table the course until our concerns are addressed. Lula Henry seconded the motion, and it carried.

• Lula Henry made a motion to table the course until our concerns are addressed. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

• Zanthia Smith made a motion to table the course until our concerns are addressed. Lula Henry seconded the motion, and it carried.

• The cover form is missing the required signatures, so the course cannot be considered.
• Nicki Michalski made a motion to table the course until the appropriate signatures are secured. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.

• Ideally, there should be separate syllabi for the 8 and 15 week courses.
• Lula Henry made a motion to table the course until previous concerns were addressed. Zanthia Smith seconded the motion, and it carried.
